Gardner Christmas charity campaign
This Christmas we have chosen two local charities to support for our Christmas appeal. We have donated £1000 to start the campaign and will be raising money and donations for these two charities this December.
The two local charities are:
The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey:
The Salmon Youth Centre has been reaching out to young people in inner city London for over a hundred years. Inspiring young people to reach their potential and contribute positively to the community in which they live. They welcome around 500 young people every week and their doors are open to all young people, from all backgrounds, between six and 25 years old.
The charity promotes positive change in young people and supports their transition to adulthood in three key ways: improving young people’s health & wellbeing, preparing young people for education & work and involving young people in positive Community Engagement.
Age UK Lewisham and Southwark – Stones End Day Centre:
Age UK Lewisham and Southwark is an independent, self-funding local charity which has developed from agencies providing services since 1984. They improve life for older people aged 55+ by addressing poverty, social exclusion, and physical and mental suffering. They provide door to door transportation and hot cooked meals daily as well as therapeutic activities to support their members overall well being.
